Who We Are

When Brian K Dery was a teenager, he found the love for filmmaking. With dreams of wanting to work in Hollywood, Brian decided he wanted to go to film school.

Upon graduation from high school in 1992, he first wanted to serve his country and he joined the U.S. Navy, only serving four years.

In 1997, Brian attend Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. Shortly after graduation, his plans for the big move to Los Angeles, California were in motion.

As always, life has different plans. Shortly before the move, he began to experience unusual muscle weakness. After a lengthy series of medical tests, he diagnosed with a life-changing illness, Guillain-Barre Syndrome. A virus that attacks the neurological system and turns the body against itself. After many different types of treatment plans, and within three months, Brian was fully paralyzed.

Being told he would never regain the ability to walk again, Brian was close to giving up. With hard work, dedication and sacrifices not only from Brian, but from his family, he recovered and walked out of the hospital four months after his initial diagnosis.

Brian had met so many different inspiring walks of life since his recovery. Meeting them and being able to put his film passion to great use, in 2006, Triple Knot Productions was formed. TKP went on to show others that no matter what you experience, no matter what life hands you, it is up to you to find the willpower within to overcome.

Over the years Brian had filmed many projects telling the stories of so many, or helping so many organizations with their mission of helping others.

Brian had taken one special person under his wing, his stepson Jacob Rush. Jacob was born with Cerebral Palsy. Brian started grooming Jacob from a very young age to not only work in the creative field, but to also one day take over TKP.

Jacob went on to also help make a difference in the lives of so many and in 2020, Triple Knot Production had a new leader.
