Charlie Ekizian suffers everyday from a spinal cord injury that changed his life. In 1968, due to a diving accident, Charlie broke his neck.  Early on after his injury, Charlie wanted to do whatever he could to keep active.  He got involved sports for those who are disabled. Wanting to be help others who faced similar circumstances, Charlie with the help of his wife Danielle formed, Wheelchair Sports and Recreation Association(WSRA), located in the Boston area. WSRA’s main function was to help the newly injured become involved in adaptive sports.


Charlie has been in the wheelchair for over 40 years. He still has a positive mindset just as he did from the beginning.
